Vacuum heat treatment refers to the process of which alloy steel is hardened and temper, annealed, stress relieving, precipitation hardening, solution treatment in a vacuum atmosphere without the presence of oxygen and other impurities.

This treatment ensures that the steel is completely free from decarburisation and will maintain a very clean surface, while distortion is also minimised. Of equal importance is that vacuum heat treatment enables the parts to meet demanding metallurgical standards and required hardness.
